Preparation for Committed Partnership: Singles Clinical Training

Goal:

Designed to help therapists become more effective in preparing their single clients for committed relationships and marriage. This training is designed for relational work primarily in a group setting with theory and processes to show single people how to modify their character adaptations and prepare them for the change and healing available in an intimate relationship. This course is also useful for therapists in doing character work with couples.

Description:

Most people who want a committed relationship look for the ideal partner match. They have limited understanding that the person they select and the relationship they have with them, is influenced by their early life experience and the formation of their character defenses. This course will greatly deepen the therapist’s understanding of character structure and how to assist persons to modify their character structure thereby improving their unconscious choice of a partner, as well as the outcome of their relationship.

Course Requirements:

Attend five days (40 hours) of training, complete assigned readings, participate in training exercise and serve as clinical support staff at a singles workshop within one year of course completion.

Advanced Clinical Supervision

A course designed for therapists who wish to remain current in Imago Relationship Theory and its processes. In this training, certified therapists will receive detailed supervision of their work, as well as learn the latest developments in Imago Relationship Therapy. This course will be experiential and will include a personal growth experience. Limited to ten participants.

Course Requirements:

Attend five eight-hour days of review and supervision. Bring an audio/videotape of work in your office.

Characterological Growth: The Three Day Experience

This three day experience deepens theoretical understanding of characterological adaptations to pain through experiential processing at a personal level. In the Talmud there is a quote, “We can’t see the world as it is; we see it as we are.” The profound training takes the defense of projection and highlights the many ways we put it to use. As long as projection is available to us, we are out of connection with ourselves and others. This personal training is both exquisitely simple and complex, at the same time. Previous participants describe the training as “extraordinary and transformational.”

Couples Workshop Presenter Training

This course is designed to prepare the Certified Imago Therapist® to present intensive 20-hour couples workshops and starts with a five day personal growth segment designed to help the clinician actualize their full potential as a presenter.
